What you want to do is to wrap the textbook in the current cell. You can do this manually by urgent Alt + Enter every metre you want a new line
Or, you can limit this as the default doings by pressing the Enwrap Text in the Home tab connected the Palm. Now, whenever you bump off enter, IT will automatically wrap the text onto a new line rather than a new cell.

- Redact a cell and type what you want on the initial "row"
- Press one of the following, depending happening your OS:
Windows: Alt + InfixMacintosh: Ctrl + Option + Get into
- Type what you wish on the next "row" in the comparable cadre
- Replicate as required.

Alt + Inscribe never worked for me. I had to attend Format Cells and make a point that the Number tab was set to Text. That allowed me to construe just As I had input. My issue could give been Mac specific though.

Not quite an the identical as the OP's question, but you can also wrap existing text past selecting the cells, and selectiing "Format Cells..." so clicking the "Wrap Text" checkbox.

For those of you who are software developers and confused by completely the talk about "wrap the schoolbook" and "wherefore would 'word wrapper' need to be enabled"... in Excel... if you want to have a more than than matchless furrow of text... then "word wrapping" MUST atomic number 4 enabled. "Now, whenever you hit enter, it will automatically wrap the text onto a new line rather than a new cell." ... does this still work for anyone with the 2019 version of Excel? When I turn on "Wrap Schoolbook" for the cells, pressing Enter is still going down to the next run-in. I'm working on a spreadsheet where I'm ever entering multiple lines of text, and then would really love this to work out. Holding ALT all time is too cumbersome.
